In 2019, to celebrate eight years of adventurous craft beer brewing, Eight Degrees Brewing in Co. Cork released a uniquely dark Black Ball Metric Stout, finished in Jameson barrels. Jameson returned the favour, by filling these stout soaked barrels with some of their whiskey.
A special occasion demands a special whiskey, and Jameson Crested became the obvious choice. Jameson didn’t always bottle their own whiskey, instead selling it by cask. Jameson Crested is a tribute to the first drops bottled by Jameson in Bow Street, way back in 1963.
Jameson Crested combines vivid sherry notes with hearty pot still spice. The deep and dark malt notes of the Metric Stout lend this whiskey an added layer of complexity, sweetness and form. Sweet vanilla abounds, with a winter berry nose complimenting dried fruit and spice.
Nose : Rich stout influence; malt and vanilla chocolate. Jameson Crested pot still spices and dried fruits.
Taste: Luscious creamy texture, mild spice, roasted coffee beans and chocolate.
Finish: Sweet notes fade, pot still spices and malt lingers.
