These Japanese teapots are made from Wazuqu, a specific type of iron traditionally used in Japan for blades, tools and certain luxury items including tetsubin like these.
The manufacturer is a family business that has been crafting tetsubin since the seventeenth century, establishing a reputation for quality and craftsmanship. They are today one of the very few studios using Wazuqu iron, and examples of their teaware have been chosen as gifts for three Emperors of Japan.
The tea kettles are made from the cast metal, with the interior finished with enamel and the exterior baked with melamine to create the coloured effect.
These tea kettles are of a tall design with a capacity of 550ml.
